“trs – total retail solutions” is a growing, full-service retail consultancy firm, based in Beijing, China and employing 10 people. trs’s creative services include brand strategy and identity development, space planning and environments design, architectural documentation, environmental graphics and signage, visual merchandising, packaging, marketing communications, retail furniture development and production and re-modeling of the stores.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Senior Designers are key creative leaders of project teams at trs. They work closely with other Project Team members to develop effective and innovative solutions for a diverse array of clients and retail-oriented business. They are responsible for initiating creative direction with team members of varying disciplines to create and communicate a variety of viable solutions. This associate must also generate and be prepared to give creative presentations to the client for approval.
Specific activities include leading the generation of image boards, sketching, computer-based space planning and spatial visualization, color and finish specification, client presentation, design intent documentation, and resource coordination.
To be considered for this position, you should enjoy and excel at all phases of the creative process, from brainstorming through execution, all within multi-discipline teams. You know how to work methodically and creatively at the same time; trs designers create big ideas and consider the smallest details.
You love to sketch and your computer is a tool to complete your ideas rather than generate them.
Our clients aren’t all the same, so your solutions shouldn’t be either. You know how and when to utilize the appropriate design elements for a wide variety of retail environment solutions.
The greatest importance will be placed on your level of curiosity and awareness of the retail world around you. You should be able to interpret your observations, share them with clients and colleagues, and apply it to your project work with confidence and authority.
SENIOR SKILLS
• Ability to create appropriate brand solutions through expertise in space design, design materials, atmosphere, and sensory experience as they relate to customers’ journeys
• Three to five years experience in retail space design
• Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design or equivalent experience in CAD and/or 3D computer modeling processes, practices, and techniques
• Ability to help determine and define project scope required for efficient and effective solutions
• Strong presentation skills, fluent Chinese/English
• Extremely thoughtful and detail-oriented in work and communication
• Promote a positive attitude while managing a diverse workload with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Art direct and participate on teams with inspiration and organization
• Maintain awareness of industry, consumer, and style trends
• Sound awareness of construction, design materials, graphics, lighting, merchandising, and millwork aspects of retail design
• Collaborate with other team members to complete projects effectively and efficiently
• Familiarity with the following software applications is preferred:
Mac Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator and other graphic software
• Commitment to the growth of the company, including the quality of our staff, client relationships, and profits
